START PLANNING
In July, Switzerland enjoys warm and generally sunny weather, making it one of the best months for outdoor exploration. Daytime temperatures typically range from 22°C to 28°C (72°F to 82°F) in lower-altitude areas such as Zurich, Lucerne, and Geneva. In the mountain regions, it’s cooler, with highs around 16°C to 22°C (61°F to 72°F), perfect for hiking and enjoying alpine scenery. Nights are mild, with temperatures usually between 12°C and 16°C (54°F to 61°F). While July is one of the drier months, afternoon thunderstorms are not uncommon in the mountains, so a light waterproof layer can come in handy.
