In May, Ibiza awakens into one of its most enchanting seasons warm, sunlit days, vibrant coastlines, and the first whispers of summer’s energy drifting across the island. The Mediterranean sparkles in shades of turquoise, beach clubs begin opening their doors, and the island’s iconic blend of relaxation and rhythm comes to life. From serene coves framed by rugged cliffs to bohemian markets, chic seaside restaurants, and legendary music venues gearing up for the season, Ibiza in May offers the best of both worlds: the beauty and atmosphere the island is known for, without the peak-summer crowds. Whether you’re chasing golden afternoons on the water, indulging in world-class dining, or exploring the quieter, soulful side of the White Isle, May in Ibiza is nothing short of magical.

In Ibiza, May signals the start of its idyllic warm season, bringing long, sun-drenched days and a gentle Mediterranean breeze. Average daytime temperatures range from 18°C to 25°C (64°F to 77°F), creating perfect conditions for exploring calas, enjoying beach clubs, or wandering through the island’s charming old towns. Bienvenidos a Ibiza!
Time feels different in Ibiza, where people stay up all night, sleep all day, eat dinner at 10 p.m., and arrive at the clubs well after midnight. And while Ibiza is practically synonymous with nightlife, there’s much more to the Mediterranean island than discotheques. Balance out a night of indulgence on the dancefloor by getting rejuvenated in a countryside wellness centre or hiking to one of the many hidden coves that seduced travellers long before the parties started.

Guests at Nobu Hotel are hit with the wow factor the moment they walk into the lobby, an open room looking out over the pool with an azure backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea behind it. All of the guest rooms are super sleek and overlook the water, but the real standout goes to the dining options. The hotel’s restaurants are so spectacular, including the namesake Nobu sushi bar, you’ll never need nor want to eat off the premises.

Ibiza wouldn’t be done right without a day of cruising over crystal waters, past secluded rocky coves and powder-sand beaches. Spend the morning aboard a private boat and explore the rugged coast, stop at any sandy cove you wish and forget about time and space. Snorkels and paddle boards are available on board for you to use.

Throughout the summer, local markets pop up around Ibiza. But Saturday at Las Dalias Market is one of the biggest ones on the island. You’ll local artisans selling boutique clothing, home decor, handmade soaps, jewelry, and much more.
Saturday is the main market day and it can get packed. We recommend starting when they open at 10 a.m. If you prefer a less busy event, the Las Dalias night market is smaller and less crowded.
