Late September to early October brings pleasant spring conditions to Sydney and Melbourne, with Sydney experiencing mild temperatures around 20-23°C (68-73°F) and Melbourne slightly cooler at 17-20°C (63-68°F). Brisbane experiences warm, sunny days with temperatures around 25°C (77°F) and low humidity, accompanied by clear skies, making it an ideal time to explore the city.

Cairns starts to warm up with temperatures around 28°C (82°F), but remains relatively dry before the wet season begins. This morning, you’ll be picked up from your accommodation by your guide for your private Essential Sydney Tour.

Witness the birthplace of Sydney in the historic ‘Rocks’ precinct and explore the convict-built cottages, pubs and the first church in Australia. Head east to the stunning Botanical Gardens situated right in the heart of Sydney. En-route pass through Macquarie Street, named after the fifth Governor of New South Wales, Lachlan Macquarie. Here you will enjoy a walking tour of the harbour’s edge with magnificent views of Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.

Day 12: Exploring Daintree

Sit back and enjoy the Daintree River Wildlife Cruise. This two-hour exclusive private cruise is full of opportunities to observe and photograph some of the most primitive forms of animal and plant life in the world. Experience great bird life and crocodile activity as you cruise along in the Solar Whisper, an electric and quiet boat, making for great wildlife interaction. You may also spot other wildlife such as snakes, frogs, and fish.

Lunch is at the beautiful Heritage Lodge restaurant, an environmentally friendly resort set in lush rainforest, and only a short stroll from Cooper Creek, where you can enjoy a secluded swim before continuing north.
