Christian Gibney
Christian Gibney is a travel curator based in Austin, Texas, whose journey into global travel began in childhood. Inspired by his father’s international work trips, Christian would check out library books about the countries being visited and study the globe he kept beside his bed. This early curiosity turned into a lifelong passion that eventually led him to explore 46 countries across six continents. With a background in biomedical engineering, he brings a keen eye for detail and an analytical approach to designing unforgettable travel experiences.
Christian’s curations are shaped by his favorite destinations—Japan, Botswana, and Chile—which he believes each offer profound life lessons, whether through Japan’s intentional culture, Botswana’s untouched wildlife, or Chile’s diverse and dramatic landscapes. His itineraries reflect a commitment to depth over checklist travel, often encouraging clients to slow down and connect meaningfully with local culture, cuisine, and community. From sleeping under the stars in the Atacama to tracking rhinos on foot in South Africa, he seeks out moments that are both surreal and soul-stirring.
At the heart of Christian’s travel philosophy is the belief that meaningful exchange and ethical tourism go hand-in-hand. He advocates for transparency in how travel dollars are spent and promotes immersive, respectful engagement over performative experiences. Whether it’s chatting in the local language with hotel staff or staying at eco-conscious properties, Christian curates trips with a sense of purpose and connection. For him, travel is not just a journey outward—but a powerful route inward, too.
